found this site by accident, and am quite glad i did!  my name is kristin, and i am a single mother of 3 kids...daniel is 10, david is 9, and kamryn just turned 7.  i got divorced 2 years ago after my now ex-husband began using methamphetamines.  he's been arrested 4 times now, and in the 2 years since he's been ordered to pay me $1308 a month, i've only gotten $150 from him.  i am currently on welfare, but that isn't nearly enough to survive.  the kids and i lost EVERYTHING after the split.  the car was re-po'ed and i had no way to pay the rent, so we were forced to move in with my mom and step dad.  i have shared one room with the 3 kids for the past 2 years now and i really need to get out of there.  my mom is verbally mean to the kids and i, and i feel like i'm walking on eggshells all the time.  i enrolled in school last september to become a nurse.  i started september 18th and was doing really well.  that is until november 2, (the day after my 33rd birthday).  i had a backache so i went to the ER and was told that i had an infected kidney stone.  they admitted me that night and wanted to remove the stone the next morning.  during the night, i developed septic shock, and had to be intubated.  almost 2 weeks later, on november 14, 2006, i woke up from my coma and was told that i beat the odds and had crashed 3 times and that i only had a 20% chance of surviving what i had.  I had septic shock with complete liver and kidney failure, ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome), and pneumonia.  i had to have 3 blood transfusions and am very lucky to be alive today!  since i was out of school for so long, they dropped me, but i am waiting for medical clearance from my doctor to restart in march.  i'm not asking for hand outs or anything, but a listening ear and some good advice.  PLEASE HELP ME!!   thank you for reading my story.
